  • Thriving in the Busy Season: Baby, Business, and a Big Tailgate

Business Momentum in Full Swing This week has been one of those seasons where everything seems to hit all at once. Client work has picked up again in a big way with new quotes being sent out, fresh projects starting, consults booked, and new clients officially onboarding. Can I complain? Absolutely not. I love being busy, even if the timing is wild as I’m technically on maternity leave. The truth is, momentum often arrives when you least expect it. For me, it showed up right in the middle of this newborn season. The first part of the week, I felt drained to the core, but instead of stepping back, I pushed through, and I’m glad I did. Every new project reminds me that I am still me even while stepping into this new identity of motherhood. Transitioning into a New Season It has been a huge blessing having my mom here these past five weeks. She’s been by my side, supporting me through the sleepless nights and helping with baby Jett, but her time here is coming to a close. With her leaving in just a week, I’ve been stepping up more with chores, cooking, baby care, and of course, running the business. This transition has been eye-opening. For the first time, I fully understand the phrase: “If you don’t take care of yourself, how can you take care of others?” It’s so true. I have to make sure I’m not just pouring into my baby and my clients but also into myself. That balance is fragile but so important. Preparing for Our Annual Tailgate In the midst of it all, we are gearing up for something I’m really excited about: Our joint company tailgate on October 11th. All current and potential clients are invited. We have everything booked, the lists made, and free food, drinks, and transportation lined up. This will be our 5th tailgate, and honestly, I feel way less overwhelmed than in years past. I think I’ve finally learned to let go a little and not stress every tiny detail. Instead, I’m focusing on making it a space to connect, relax, and celebrate with the people who make what we do possible. Words of Guidance If you’re a business owner in a busy or transitional season, here’s what I’ve been reminding myself: Push when you can, rest when you need to.  Some days, you’ll have the energy to go full throttle. Other days, you need to step back. Both are okay. Let go of the perfection.  My tailgate prep feels lighter because I stopped stressing about making every detail flawless. Clients and community don’t remember the perfection, they remember how you made them feel. Balance identity shifts.  For me, becoming a mom and still running a business is a huge transition. But staying rooted in the parts of me that make me feel like “me” has been powerful. Looking Ahead As I head into the next week, I know things will shift again as my mom transitions back home. Life won’t be the same, but that’s the beauty of growth. We’re adjusting, thriving, and leaning into the moments as they come. I’m excited for the upcoming tailgate, grateful for the momentum in my business, and soaking up every sweet moment with Jett. Life is busy, life is full, and life is good.

  • When Life Hits Hard and Business Keeps Moving

A Wild Week of Highs and Lows This past week has been one of the most intense and emotional weeks I can remember. It was filled with big wins, family moments, heartbreaking losses, and even some very close calls that reminded me how precious life really is. On the business side, I was in back-to-back meetings and started diving into some heavy project work for clients. I even pushed myself a little by attending Lunch Bunch only three and a half weeks postpartum. It felt good to be back in a familiar environment, but it was also overwhelming. I had to remind myself more than once that I am still recovering and adjusting to life with a newborn. At home, I began fully caring for Jett at night so that my mom can start transitioning back to her own routine. It has been both exhausting and rewarding. Those long hours in the middle of the night are tough, but they are also the moments where I realize just how strong I can be. My mom has been my rock these last few weeks, and as she prepares to return home, I wanted to do something special for her. So I surprised my parents with a date night at Primrose Path. It was exactly what they needed. My mom cried tears of joy because she truly needed a break from all things baby, and seeing her and my dad enjoy themselves was one of my highlights of the week. But alongside the joy, there was grief. On Friday night we lost a close family friend from church, and that loss weighed heavily on all of us. Then, as if emotions were not already running high, I had a terrifying experience while driving the next day. Someone ran a red light going at least fifty miles per hour. In an instant, they hit the motorcyclist next to me, and if I had not been paying attention, they would have struck the side of my car where Jett was sitting. I still get chills thinking about how close it was. Thankfully, the motorcyclist was able to walk away and was taken to the hospital. That moment was a huge reminder of how quickly things can change and how important it is to stay present. And as if that was not enough, our property in Bremond had its own drama. A U-Haul trailer detached, rolled onto our land, destroyed part of our fence, knocked the ground wire off our electric pole, and started a fire. Within minutes there were four police cars there. Later, College Station PD came to our door with more details about the incident, which made feel reassured that in the future, they now know how to reach us right away if something happens again. It was pure chaos, but also a strange reminder that systems work and that community matters. Business in the Middle of Chaos Even with all of this happening in my personal life, I still showed up for my business. Projects moved forward. Clients were served. Team meetings happened. Not because I am superhuman, but because I have built systems and a team that support me even in the wildest of weeks. This week drove home a truth I want every entrepreneur to remember: business ownership is not about preventing chaos, it is about learning how to lead through it. There will be weeks when everything feels heavy. Weeks where you face loss, fear, exhaustion, and frustration. Those weeks do not define your ability to succeed. What matters is how you adapt, how you delegate, and how you keep moving forward even in small ways. Guidance for Business Owners If I could offer guidance to any business owner reading this, it would be this: Do not try to carry it all yourself.  Whether it is family, friends, or your business team, lean on the people around you. Let them support you when you cannot do it all. Redefine progress.  Sometimes success is closing a big deal. Other times it is sending a single email. Progress is progress, even when it feels small. Take care of yourself.  I learned this the hard way after dealing with a clogged duct and flu-like symptoms. Your body will force you to stop if you refuse to rest. Hold onto your why.  In the middle of the chaos, remembering why you started your business and who you are building it for will keep you grounded. Looking Ahead This week was proof that life can be both overwhelming and beautiful all at once. There were moments where I wanted to crumble, but there were also moments of deep gratitude. I am thankful for my family, my team, and the systems that keep my business moving even when my personal life feels like a storm. As we step into a new week, I am focusing on catching my breath, finishing client projects, and giving myself permission to rest when I need it. Because the truth is, both in business and in life, you cannot control everything. But you can control how you show up, how you adapt, and how you keep moving forward. Here is to showing up in imperfect, messy, but meaningful ways.

  • Sleepless Nights, Tears, and Lessons in Vulnerability

A Hard Week in Motherhood and Business This week has been rough. Between sleepless nights, trying to fake my way through client meetings, and my first experience with a clogged duct that came with flu-like symptoms, it’s safe to say I’ve been stretched thin. Add in a day where the hormones hit me like a wave and I literally cried the entire day, and it was one of those weeks that left me feeling raw and humbled. I’ve also transitioned into a new working rhythm: 11 PM to 3 AM . Those are my hours right now. Not exactly glamorous, but they’re the hours that work with Jett’s schedule. And that’s the truth I want to be vulnerable about... Jett is my new boss. I work when he lets me work. Do I like it? Not really. Will it get easier? Yes. But for now, this is our season. Vulnerability Isn’t Weakness I’ve always considered myself strong, determined, and not someone who cries easily. But this week pushed me to my edge. When I finally let the tears flow and admitted I was struggling, something incredible happened: the right people showed up. My family stepped in, my team carried weight I couldn’t, and I realized how much more support I had than I’d been allowing myself to accept. It was a reminder that vulnerability doesn’t mean weakness. In fact, it often opens the door for people to give us exactly what we need. Guidance for Entrepreneurs So here’s my message to fellow entrepreneurs: It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to admit you’re overwhelmed. It’s okay to fail. It’s okay to show you’re weak and need help. There is nothing wrong with that. As business owners, we often wear the mask of “I can handle it all.” But the truth is, none of us can do everything alone. When you let others in, when you ask for help, you create space, for your business and yourself, to grow stronger. Looking Ahead I won’t sugarcoat it, this season is messy. The hours are strange, my energy is low, and some days feel heavier than others. But I also know this is temporary. Sleepless nights will fade. Schedules will shift. And I’ll come out of this stronger, more empathetic, and even more committed to building a business that supports life, not drains it. For now, I’m taking it one feed, one work block, and one nap at a time. And I want to remind you: if you’re in a season that feels overwhelming, give yourself grace. You don’t have to be perfect to make progress.

  • Simplifying Operations with Payroll and Administration Services

Managing a business involves juggling many tasks, and payroll is one of the most critical yet complex areas. Efficient payroll processing ensures employees are paid accurately and on time, which boosts morale and compliance. However, handling payroll alongside administrative duties can be overwhelming without the right support. This is where administrative payroll solutions come into play, streamlining operations and freeing up valuable time for business growth. The Importance of Administrative Payroll Solutions Administrative payroll solutions combine payroll processing with essential administrative tasks such as record-keeping, compliance management, and employee data handling. These solutions help businesses avoid costly errors and penalties by automating routine processes and ensuring accuracy. For example, a small business owner might spend hours manually calculating wages, taxes, and benefits. With administrative payroll solutions, these calculations are automated, reducing human error and saving time. Additionally, these solutions often include features like direct deposit, tax filing, and reporting, which simplify the entire payroll cycle. Key benefits include: Time savings: Automate repetitive tasks to focus on core business activities. Accuracy: Reduce errors in wage calculations and tax deductions. Compliance: Stay updated with changing tax laws and labor regulations. Employee satisfaction: Ensure timely and accurate payments. How Administrative Payroll Solutions Transform Business Operations Implementing administrative payroll solutions can transform how businesses operate by integrating payroll with other administrative functions. This integration creates a seamless workflow that enhances productivity and reduces administrative burdens. For instance, many solutions offer employee self-service portals where staff can view pay stubs, request time off, and update personal information. This reduces the administrative workload and empowers employees to manage their own data. Moreover, these solutions often provide real-time reporting and analytics, giving managers insights into labor costs, overtime, and payroll trends. This data-driven approach helps in making informed decisions about staffing and budgeting. Practical recommendations for adopting administrative payroll solutions: Assess your business needs: Identify which payroll and administrative tasks consume the most time. Choose scalable software: Select solutions that grow with your business. Train your team: Ensure staff understand how to use the new system effectively. Regularly review processes: Continuously optimize payroll workflows for efficiency. What is the highest paying job in payroll? The payroll industry offers various career paths, with some roles commanding higher salaries due to their complexity and responsibility. The highest paying job in payroll is typically the Payroll Director or Payroll Manager . These professionals oversee the entire payroll function, ensuring compliance, managing teams, and implementing payroll strategies. Payroll Directors often work closely with finance and HR departments, handling complex issues such as tax audits, regulatory changes, and payroll system upgrades. Their expertise in both payroll and administration makes them invaluable to organizations. Other high-paying roles include: Payroll Compliance Manager: Focuses on legal and regulatory adherence. Payroll Systems Analyst: Specializes in payroll software and data management. Compensation and Benefits Manager: Oversees employee compensation structures. To advance in payroll careers, professionals should pursue certifications such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and stay updated on tax laws and technology trends. Streamlining Payroll and Administration for Small Businesses Small businesses often face unique challenges in managing payroll and administration due to limited resources. Outsourcing or using specialized software can be a game-changer for these businesses. Outsourcing payroll to a trusted provider ensures compliance and accuracy without the need for in-house expertise. Alternatively, cloud-based payroll software offers affordable, user-friendly options that automate calculations, tax filings, and employee communications. When selecting a solution, small businesses should consider: Cost-effectiveness: Look for transparent pricing with no hidden fees. Ease of use: Choose intuitive platforms that require minimal training. Customer support: Access to reliable support is crucial for troubleshooting. Integration capabilities: Ensure compatibility with accounting and HR systems. By leveraging these tools, small businesses can reduce administrative overhead and focus on growth and customer service. Enhancing Efficiency with Payroll and Administration Services Partnering with professional payroll and administration services can significantly enhance operational efficiency. These services handle everything from payroll processing to compliance management, freeing business owners from time-consuming tasks. For example, a business using such services benefits from: Accurate payroll processing: Timely and error-free payments. Regulatory compliance: Up-to-date with tax laws and labor regulations. Customized reporting: Tailored reports for financial planning. Employee support: Assistance with payroll inquiries and issues. Outsourcing also reduces the risk of penalties due to missed deadlines or incorrect filings. It allows businesses to scale operations without worrying about payroll complexities. Future Trends in Administrative Payroll Solutions The payroll landscape is evolving rapidly with advancements in technology. Future trends include: Artificial Intelligence (AI): Automating complex payroll tasks and detecting anomalies. Blockchain: Enhancing security and transparency in payroll transactions. Mobile accessibility: Allowing employees and managers to access payroll data on the go. Integration with HR tech: Creating unified platforms for workforce management. Businesses that adopt these innovations early will gain a competitive edge by improving accuracy, security, and employee experience. Simplifying payroll and administrative tasks is essential for any business aiming to improve efficiency and compliance. By embracing administrative payroll solutions and professional services, companies can focus on what matters most - growing their business and supporting their workforce.

  • Surviving Sleepless Nights and Still Moving Forward in Business

Finding Rhythm in the Chaos Life with a newborn is no joke. The first week was a blur of sleepless nights, endless feedings, and that “new mom panic” that hits you when you realize this tiny human depends on you for everything. But slowly, we’ve started to find our rhythm. The biggest game-changer? Creating a schedule. At first, we were all trying to survive on Jett’s terms: Waking up every two to three hours, hoping for scraps of sleep in between, and running ourselves ragged. It didn’t take long to realize this wasn’t sustainable. So as a family, we divided the nights and days into shifts. Here’s how we do it now: 9 PM – 3 AM:  Me (yes, I’m officially on the “night shift,” so if you get late-night emails from me, now you know why 😅). 3 AM – 9 AM:  My mom, who has been an absolute lifesaver. 9 AM – 3 PM:  A shared block between my mom and me. 3 PM – 9 PM:  My husband takes over. Is it flawless? Absolutely not. There are interruptions, diaper blowouts, moments when Jett refuses to sleep, and times when the schedule goes completely sideways. But it’s a system that gives each of us rest, and that’s what makes it work. Motherhood Meets Business One of the most surprising things about this new season is how much I still want to work . Before Jett was born, I wondered if I’d lose all motivation. But instead, I find myself craving those small windows of time where I can sit at my laptop, check in with clients, or delegate tasks to my team. Sometimes Jett is asleep on my chest while I answer emails. Other times, I hand him to my mom or my husband so I can focus for an hour. It’s not the same as the deep, focused blocks I used to thrive on, but it still feels good. It feels like me. Motherhood hasn’t taken away my passion for my business. It’s just reshaped it. And honestly, I think that’s a lesson every entrepreneur needs: your work doesn’t have to look the same in every season of life. Interrupted Progress Is Still Progress As a business owner, I used to thrive on deep focus. Hours blocked out for development projects, coaching calls, and client work. Now, those hours look more like: Sending one important email between feedings. Delegating a project instead of doing it myself. Chipping away at something in 15-minute bursts. And here’s what I’ve realized: interrupted progress is still progress. It’s tempting to think, “If I don’t have three hours to focus, it’s not worth starting.” But that’s not true. Momentum builds from the small steps just as much as the big ones. So if you’re in a season where your time is divided , maybe you’re caring for a baby, moving into a new house, or just juggling too many responsibilities, give yourself grace. Your success isn’t defined by how many uninterrupted hours you work. It’s defined by your ability to keep moving forward, even in the interruptions. A Question for You I’ve been posting blogs like this every week for months now, and I’ll be honest: I get almost no views. And yet, I keep writing. Why? Because it helps me reflect, share my journey, and connect with the people who need to hear it most. But now I want your opinion: Should I keep this blog as a paid feature of ABJ Chapman Services, or make it free to the public? I’ve added a poll, and your feedback will help me decide the best direction moving forward. Looking Ahead The days are long, the nights are longer, but the weeks are flying by. Jett is already growing and changing before my eyes, and I don’t want to miss a thing. At the same time, I’m proud to see that my business is still moving forward, even in this wild, sleep-deprived season. Next week, I’ll be sharing more about how I’m leaning on my team during maternity leave, and the surprising ways delegation has freed me up to be both present with my family and engaged in my business. Because at the end of the day, this journey isn’t about choosing one role over the other, it’s about finding a way to embrace them both.

  • Welcoming Baby Jett and Finding a New Rhythm

A Long Journey, A Perfect Arrival It’s official!!! On Sunday, August 24th, we welcomed our baby boy into the world. After a 38-hour labor that ended in an emergency C-section, Jett was born weighing 8 lbs, 8 oz. It was long, exhausting, and emotional, but the moment I held him, I knew it was all worth it. He is the cutest little thing, and I am so in love. Balancing Work and Motherhood from the Start Even during labor, I found myself doing what I’ve always done: working. I was still checking off to-dos, contacting clients, and staying on top of projects. Once we were home from the hospital, I leaned on my team to fill in the gaps while I rested and healed. By Wednesday, I felt ready to start easing back into work, and honestly, it felt good. Getting back to my business gave me a sense of normalcy and reminded me of who I am outside of this new role as “mom.” Sometimes Jett is on my chest while I type away, and sometimes I pass him off to my husband or mom so I can fully focus. Either way, being able to work, even in small bursts, makes me feel like myself again. It has been a reminder that you don’t have to choose between being a good mom and being a dedicated business owner. You can be both. A Scary Start and a Big Shift Our first week home came with its share of worries. At his first appointment, Jett wasn’t gaining weight quickly enough to get back to his birth weight. That meant daily appointments, a lot of stress, and plenty of tears. The solution for us was switching from direct breastfeeding to exclusively pumping and measuring everything he eats. It’s been a journey, but it’s working. He’s now eating a ton, and he’s gaining weight beautifully. Those early days reminded me that parenthood is about flexibility and finding what works best for your family, even if it’s not what you originally envisioned. Finding Myself Again Today, I feel good. Really good. The sleepless nights are evening out into a routine, and I feel like a million dollars compared to last week. I’m more myself, I have energy again, and I’m embracing the little moments, both with my son and with my business. Advice for Business Owners on This Journey If you’re a business owner preparing for parenthood, here’s my biggest piece of advice: give yourself grace . I gave myself grace when labor started, when I was recovering, and when I stepped back into work. I didn’t rush into anything before I was ready, but when I felt that spark to come back, I followed it. That balance has been key. Your business will be fine. Your team can step in. And when you’re ready to return, the work will still be there. Trust yourself to know when the right time is. Looking Ahead This first week of motherhood has been overwhelming, beautiful, and transformative. I know the journey is just beginning, but I’m stepping into it with gratitude for my family, my business, and the ability to be both a present mom and a strong business owner. Here’s to the next chapter: One that’s sure to be full of growth in every way possible.

  • The Final Countdown: Waiting for Baby and Balancing Business

As I sit here in the final stretch of pregnancy, it feels surreal to be so close to meeting our baby boy. The waiting game is emotional, physical, and mental all at once. Between business, house projects, and preparing for motherhood, I’ve been reflecting a lot on where I am right now and I wanted to share a little “life lately” update with you. How I’m Feeling Right Now Physically and emotionally, I finally feel ready, especially now that our induction is scheduled. I really don’t want to be induced, so I’ve been focusing on natural induction methods. My doctor has been respectful of that, though she does have concerns about his size. Thankfully, she’s willing to move the induction out into September if I need, which has given me peace of mind. It feels good to know she’s listening to my wishes, even while balancing her medical perspective. Yes, we’re trying all the natural induction methods. Google them... you’ll find plenty! I won’t go into details here since they’re not the most PG, but let’s just say some of them get things moving while others feel less consistent. At the end of the day, it’s clear my body just isn’t quite ready yet. Balancing Business and Baby Prep The nursery is officially ready, his little bag is packed, and the car seat is installed. Sometimes we’ll just sit in the room, soaking it all in, imagining what it will be like to have a baby boy in there soon. That visual makes everything feel so real. Leading up to this moment, I’ve been filling my days with development projects, marketing plans, app work, and onboarding new clients. It’s been a lot, and at times I was exhausted. Third-trimester sleep is no joke and it often felt like I didn’t sleep at all. But I leaned on my mastermind group to hold me accountable for rest, and when I finally took a day off, I felt an incredible difference. Sometimes rest is the most productive thing you can do. One of the best days I’ve had recently was spent unplugging. I didn’t respond to messages, and instead I focused on something I wanted to do: going through photos. I ordered physical prints from Walmart, organized years’ worth of memories, and even made video recaps of 2022 and 2023. It felt so grounding, and it was a reminder that slowing down has its own kind of magic. I know I need to build in more intentional rest, but with the baby’s arrival so close, it feels impossible not to cram in “just one more thing.” There’s this constant pull between slowing down and pushing through, and I’m learning to navigate that tension daily. The House Project Update Meanwhile, the house build continues. We still need to drywall two to three more rooms, and the finish crew hasn’t completed the big 18-foot section yet. We’re also waiting on the outside units. But we’re not in a rush, progress happens as people get time to help, and the next house-building weekend is coming up soon. Traditions in the Waiting Game Right now, our traditions are simple. For the house, it’s weekends of slow but steady work. For the baby, it’s quiet evenings together, talking about the future and dreaming about what life will look like once he’s here. Nothing elaborate but just being present. I’m so excited to see what life will look like after he arrives. I feel like I’m almost rushing it because I’m eager to establish a new routine with him here. I’m ready to have my “little worm” attached to me and experience what this next chapter truly feels like. Final Reflections I keep coming back to one word: ready. Ready for him to arrive. Ready for him to come safely and healthy, with all his fingers and toes. Ready to step into motherhood while also being a business owner. And honestly, this season has given me so much respect for all the mompreneurs out there. Running a business while pregnant, or while raising little ones, requires so much strength. This has been the hardest I’ve ever pushed myself but it’s also proof that I can  push through. I know that if I can handle the third trimester and the intensity of preparing for birth, I can also handle what’s ahead as a mom and entrepreneur. So here’s to the final countdown. To waiting, to preparing, to building, and to resting. And to stepping into the next chapter with strength, faith, and excitement.

  • Delegating, Preparing, and Counting Down

Client Work in High Gear This past week has been non-stop. Between client meetings, consultations, and wrapping up big projects, I’ve been in full-on prep mode before maternity leave. Every day has been about tying up loose ends, finishing deliverables, and making sure no client is left with an unfinished project. A big focus has been training my team to take over the repetitive client tasks that keep our operations running smoothly. I’ve been meeting with them regularly, walking through processes, reviewing work, and making adjustments so that when I step back, nothing falls through the cracks. One thing I’ve been emphasizing to clients lately is that services are not stopping. Some people assume that me going on leave means the work pauses. That has never been my plan. I have an incredible team behind me, and I’m still overseeing every ounce of their work. My role will shift, but my commitment to my clients won’t. The House Moves Forward Without Me This weekend marked my first “hands-off” work weekend for the house. My dad, mom, and husband took the lead while I stayed home. They tackled more drywall, reframed a few areas for a better fit, and worked through some plumbing punch list items. The finish crew is still busy floating, taping, and sanding down the massive 18-foot walls. It’s coming along, but we’re definitely behind schedule. The good news? We have no strict move-in date, so the pressure isn’t unbearable. Every step forward still feels like progress. Nursery: Check The nursery is officially ready for baby Jett. Everything is clean, every piece of baby laundry is washed, and every teether and bottle has been prepped. The last step is organizing the smaller items so everything has a home before he arrives. It’s surreal walking into that room knowing that in just a couple of weeks, he’ll actually be here. Baby Countdown Mode This weekend I officially started all the natural induction methods to encourage Jett to make his appearance within the next two weeks. My doctor has expressed concern about his size, and while I would love for him to arrive on his own, we’re preparing for the possibility of an induction to help avoid a C-section and any complications. The fatigue is real. Sleep is practically nonexistent... I think I wake up every hour now. My body is clearly in training mode for newborn life, and I’m ready to meet this little boy. Looking Ahead The next two weeks will be a balance of wrapping up work, finalizing small home and baby projects, and listening to my body. This is the busiest and most exhausting countdown I’ve ever experienced, but it’s also the most exciting. Jett is on his way, my team is ready, and I’m soaking in the final stretch before everything changes. See you next week.

  • Overwhelmed, Blessed, and Still Catching Up

Three Baby Showers, One Tired Mama This week has been one for the books. We’re officially home after a whirlwind of travel, baby showers, and unpacking all the sweet gifts for baby Jett. We had our all our baby showers back to back, which means we’ve been hauling, organizing, washing, folding, and still finding places for everything. To say we’re overwhelmed in the best way would be an understatement. It’s a full-circle moment to see how loved this little boy already is and how many people are excited to meet him. I’m deeply grateful for this season of generosity and community, even if it means our washer and dryer haven’t gotten a break all week. Business Catch-Up Mode Activated At the same time, business came back full force. This week was stacked with meetings, consults, and strategy sessions including our quarterly State of the Company meeting with the team. It’s weeks like this that remind me how real the entrepreneurial rollercoaster is. After some slower weeks in July, I thought I’d be easing back in. Not quite. Between tying up client projects, making key decisions, and juggling team trainings, the week felt like a blur. I kept thinking, “How is it only Wednesday?” and then somehow, “How is it already Friday?” Cankles, Closets, and Countdown to Baby We’re officially on baby watch. I got the all-clear from my doctor to start trying all the natural induction methods, and let me tell you, the cankles are awful, the weight is heavy, and I cannot wait to meet Jett. The nursery is semi put together (the keyword being semi ). The main area looks great, but that closet? I’m avoiding it like the plague. It’s packed with things we still need to go through, but it’s just not the priority right now and that’s okay. One major win this week was catching up on our postpartum meal prep. We were way behind, and my husband’s parents saved the day over the weekend by packing our freezer with meals. That was a huge stress lifted, and I’m so grateful. Delegation and Team Trust One thing I’m proud of this week: I continued delegating. I’m actively passing off more responsibilities to the team not just for the sake of my upcoming maternity leave, but because that’s how a business scales. Every training, every SOP, every moment of mentoring is a long-term investment in the kind of company I want to build, one that runs smoothly with or without me at the wheel every second. My team is stepping up, and I’m learning to step back when I need to. It’s not always easy, but it’s necessary. And it’s working. Grace Over Guilt I’m still playing catch-up. I’m not going to pretend otherwise. There are emails I haven’t answered yet. Tasks that didn’t make it off the list. Projects that are a little behind schedule. But here’s the thing... that’s okay. If you’re in a similar season of overwhelm, here’s your reminder: Communicate with your clients. Let them know you’re actively catching up. Be clear, be honest, and be responsive. Most clients aren’t upset about timing, they’re frustrated by silence. The work can wait if the communication doesn’t. Being present and proactive builds far more trust than pretending everything is on time when it’s not. Looking Ahead This week, I’m doubling down on clarity for myself, my team, and my clients. I’m choosing structure over stress. Progress over perfection. And yes, grace over guilt. Always. We’re getting closer every day. Jett will be here soon, the business is growing, and I’m soaking in the last few weeks of this wild, beautiful, exhausting season. See you next week.
