Business Momentum in Full Swing
This week has been one of those seasons where everything seems to hit all at once. Client work has picked up again in a big way with new quotes being sent out, fresh projects starting, consults booked, and new clients officially onboarding. Can I complain? Absolutely not. I love being busy, even if the timing is wild as I’m technically on maternity leave.
The truth is, momentum often arrives when you least expect it. For me, it showed up right in the middle of this newborn season. The first part of the week, I felt drained to the core, but instead of stepping back, I pushed through, and I’m glad I did. Every new project reminds me that I am still me even while stepping into this new identity of motherhood.
Transitioning into a New Season
It has been a huge blessing having my mom here these past five weeks. She’s been by my side, supporting me through the sleepless nights and helping with baby Jett, but her time here is coming to a close. With her leaving in just a week, I’ve been stepping up more with chores, cooking, baby care, and of course, running the business.
This transition has been eye-opening. For the first time, I fully understand the phrase: “If you don’t take care of yourself, how can you take care of others?” It’s so true. I have to make sure I’m not just pouring into my baby and my clients but also into myself. That balance is fragile but so important.
Preparing for Our Annual Tailgate
In the midst of it all, we are gearing up for something I’m really excited about: Our joint company tailgate on October 11th. All current and potential clients are invited. We have everything booked, the lists made, and free food, drinks, and transportation lined up.
This will be our 5th tailgate, and honestly, I feel way less overwhelmed than in years past. I think I’ve finally learned to let go a little and not stress every tiny detail. Instead, I’m focusing on making it a space to connect, relax, and celebrate with the people who make what we do possible.
Words of Guidance
If you’re a business owner in a busy or transitional season, here’s what I’ve been reminding myself:
Push when you can, rest when you need to. Some days, you’ll have the energy to go full throttle. Other days, you need to step back. Both are okay.
Let go of the perfection. My tailgate prep feels lighter because I stopped stressing about making every detail flawless. Clients and community don’t remember the perfection, they remember how you made them feel.
Balance identity shifts. For me, becoming a mom and still running a business is a huge transition. But staying rooted in the parts of me that make me feel like “me” has been powerful.
Looking Ahead
As I head into the next week, I know things will shift again as my mom transitions back home. Life won’t be the same, but that’s the beauty of growth. We’re adjusting, thriving, and leaning into the moments as they come.
I’m excited for the upcoming tailgate, grateful for the momentum in my business, and soaking up every sweet moment with Jett. Life is busy, life is full, and life is good.
