Blogging From Vegas: Business, Balance, and Letting Go of the Plan

Right now, I’m writing this from the Kassi Beach Club at the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas, a place that’s as energetic as it sounds. Let’s just say, it’s not your average remote work setting. The DJ is spinning some great hits, the music is loud, and the vibe is definitely more “pool party” than “co-working session.”
But that didn’t stop me from getting things done.
Before the beats fully kicked in, I was able to squeeze in some client work and wrap up a side project for a new client. It felt good to be productive, even in a swimsuit, under the Vegas sun.
Vegas Wins (Literally and Figuratively)
While my plan was to get a little more work done during this trip, I’m not stressing about it. I still managed to stay on top of what mattered, and I even got in some gambling (because why not?).
And here’s the best part: I’m heading home breaking even. Everything I took out to play with, I made back. That’s a win in my book.
Business is Booming
Even while away, things haven’t slowed down one bit. Last week was packed with consults, and this week is already filling up fast with new client bookings.
To keep up with the momentum, I made a big move: I hired 3 new team members who will be starting this summer.
They’ll be supporting me in a few different ways:
Web and app development work
VA support across my businesses
And most exciting of all, they’ll be learning and getting mentored by me this summer
It’s part capacity, part legacy. I’m excited to guide them and help shape the way they show up in the online business world.
When Things Don’t Go to Plan
This week has been a beautiful reminder that plans don’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
Yes, I didn’t work as much as I thought I would. Yes, the DJ drowned out my concentration by lunchtime. Yes, I had to be flexible.
But you know what? It was still productive. It was still aligned. And it was still worth it.
If things aren’t going exactly how you planned, especially if you’re building a business, juggling travel, or (like me) growing a baby, please remember this:
You don’t have to do it all today. There is always tomorrow.
You’re allowed to adapt. You’re allowed to rest. And you’re absolutely allowed to enjoy where you are while still moving forward.
Need help creating more flexibility in your business? Let's talk about how we can build systems and support that travel with you.
And if you're not following along on socials, you’re missing some fun behind-the-scenes moments from the poolside CEO life!
