How I Travel and Work at the Same Time (Without Burning Out)

This week is a full one for me! I’m out of town in Galveston until Thursday, and then headed straight to Las Vegas for a business trip Friday morning (at 2am in the morning).
As a business owner, the ability to travel while still keeping things moving is one of the biggest perks and one of the biggest challenges. It takes planning, flexibility, and a mindset that prioritizes both productivity and presence. But it’s absolutely possible.
And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
How I’m Balancing Work and Travel This Week
While I’m in Vegas, I’m combining a little bit of everything:
Visiting with clients
Working remotely
Taking intentional time to relax and recharge
I’ve got a day pass for Saturday and Sunday at the pool at the Virgin Hotel, and I’m intentionally setting up my days to create a healthy balance.
Here’s the plan:
Laptop by the pool in the morning. I’ll work, knock out client tasks, check emails, and make progress while soaking in a little sun.
Work until my laptop dies.
Once it’s dead? That’s my cutoff. That’s when it’s time to put business away and focus fully on me.
No guilt. No stressing over what’s not done. Just trusting the boundaries I’ve set and knowing I showed up for my clients and myself.
Since my husband is in Vegas for work, I’m also giving myself permission to go with the flow. Maybe we’ll grab dinner, maybe I’ll take a nap in the afternoon. The goal is to stay flexible and soak it all in without feeling chained to a strict schedule.
Why Work + Travel Can Actually Be Good for You
Working in a setting like a beach or a pool is one of the best ways to bring fresh energy into your business.
The environment is relaxing: The sound of water, the warm air, and the sunshine do wonders for your mindset.
It forces you to prioritize: You focus on the essentials because you’re naturally balancing work with play.
It resets your creativity: Being outside of your normal workspace sparks new ideas and fresh perspectives.
You actually get more done: When you know you have a cut-off time (like when your laptop battery runs out), you work smarter, not harder.
It’s a reminder that you can be productive without grinding yourself into the ground. You can enjoy your life and run your business at the same time.
Building a Business That Travels With Me
This week is exactly why I built my businesses the way I did. To give myself the freedom to work anywhere, take trips without stress, and stay connected while still living my life.
It’s not about being available 24/7. It’s about being intentional, efficient, and present wherever I am.
If you’ve been dreaming about a business that gives you the freedom to travel and still thrive, I promise you, it’s possible. It just takes the right systems, support, and mindset.
I’ll be sharing more from Vegas (and maybe a poolside work update or two). Stay tuned!
