A Week of Rest and Recharging
This past week was exactly what my mind and body needed. We traveled to Bobby Joe’s hometown and it felt like a complete reset. His parents really do know how to treat us. They fed me crab legs, helped with Jett, let me use the office, and just took care of us in every way possible.
My stress immediately went down and, funny enough, my milk supply went up. I have been dealing with supply issues for a week, so having everything align at once felt like a blessing. Sometimes all you need is to be poured into a little bit.
We drove back to College Station on Wednesday and the second we made it home, I was hit with this wave of excitement. I was about to walk into my first four days off in I don't know how long. As the owner of a growing business, I usually get one day off a week if I am lucky. It has been a nonstop season but I planned ahead for this break and I felt so giddy knowing it was finally here.
Thanksgiving at Home
Thanksgiving morning was perfect. We watched the parade in bed, drank coffee, and spent real quality time together. No rushing, no deadlines, no laptop in sight.
Then we started cooking all our Thanksgiving favorites. Turkey, mashed potatoes, macaroni, green bean casserole. And yes, I made myself a couple mimosas while we cooked because it felt right.
The only downside was a clogged duct that turned into a cluster situation. I spent most of the day trying to unclog it but thankfully it cleared by the evening.
After dinner, we ate our favorite pie from our favorite realtor Farrah. Her Apple Crumb pie is dangerous. Bobby Joe and I ate the entire thing on Thanksgiving with zero shame and zero regrets.
We ended the night cleaning the house and decorating for Christmas which honestly was the perfect reset button.
Renaissance Festival and Family Time
Friday was amazing. We took the day and went to the Texas Renaissance Festival and had the best time. My mom took care of Jett which let us fully enjoy ourselves. It is wild how different and refreshing things feel with even a little break.
Family time, fresh air, fun costumes, and just letting loose after such a long stretch of work was exactly what I needed.
Business Wins and Black Friday
Meanwhile, in the business world, our Black Friday sale has been incredible. So many new inquiries, so many new relationships starting, and so many business owners taking advantage of a deal that really was designed to be a win for them.
We extended the sale through Cyber Monday which is today, so this is the final day to claim this offer before it closes.
Planning Ahead and Looking Forward
Saturday I fully vegged out and planned our upcoming Disney and Universal trip which made me so happy. I also started mapping out the final phase of work for our house.
We plan to move in by our anniversary or by the end of May. It feels surreal. Lots of work ahead but Bobby Joe has started going out there on his own to make faster progress which helps my stress so much.
Sunday, I packed up Jett and headed back out of town to my hometown. I will be here for the week so I can get extra help while Bobby Joe focuses on the house and I can focus on business.
This week is a big one. The first of the month for my clients is always hectic. I have a ton of emails and texts waiting for me since I have been off for four days. But honestly, that break was so needed to avoid burnout and I feel recharged and ready for the week.
Normally I would return to College Station on Friday but we are staying an extra day to go to Dickens on the Strand in Galveston. I have not gone in years and I cannot wait.
Business Advice of the Week
Listen to your body. Seriously. The signs of burnout do not lie.
But the solution is not to disappear, panic, or ghost your work. The solution is to plan your time off in advance.
Set the calendar. Set the boundaries. Communicate them early. Honor them like you honor a client deadline.
When you plan your rest, you return refreshed and your clients feel the difference immediately.
Take the time. You will thank yourself for it.
Looking Ahead
We are stepping into December strong and I have so many client projects and onboarding calls lined up. It is going to be a full month but I feel ready for it.
If you have been wanting backend support or considering the Black Friday deal, today is the last chance to claim it. After this, we are shifting into 2026 planning, new systems, and new onboarding structures.
Let’s make December productive, calm, and intentional. You deserve that.
