Reset, Routine, and a Last-Minute Trip to Dallas

After weeks of travel, celebration, and nonstop momentum, last week was exactly what I needed. A full week of catching up on work, sleep, and getting back to my normal routine.
There’s something really grounding about returning to your own rhythm after being in go-mode. I finally had the chance to clear my inbox, check off tasks that had been lingering on my list, and even slow down enough to enjoy my evenings without feeling behind.
And then… in true me fashion… I booked a last-minute trip to Dallas on Friday and hit the road Saturday. Because why not?
The Power of Rest and Spontaneity
The best part about last week was the balance. I stuck to my schedule, got back into a groove, and then gave myself permission to say yes to something spontaneous.
I’ve realized that building a life I love means being structured and flexible. I can commit to work and routine during the week and still take off on an unplanned weekend adventure when I need a change of scenery.
Prioritizing Health (for Me and Baby)
This week, I’m being intentional about taking better care of myself. That means slowing down enough to:
Actually eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner (not just snacks at my desk)
Go on two 45-minute walks a day to move my body and clear my head
Rest when my body tells me to
I keep reminding myself: I’m growing a future NFL athlete over here, and he’s counting on me to fuel both of us well. It’s not just about checking things off the to-do list. It’s about showing up for myself with the same energy I give to my clients.
Back to the Build
We’re also gearing up for another house-building weekend. A couple of weeks ago, we had all of our insulation and drywall delivered, and after a much-needed three-week break, we’re finally diving back in.
This weekend, we’ll begin working on insulation, a huge step forward that brings us one layer closer to seeing this dream house take shape.
It’s hard, sweaty work, but every piece of progress is worth it.
A Gentle Reminder
If you’re finding yourself in a season of constant hustle, this is your reminder that it’s okay to reset. Catch up. Slow down. Take the weekend trip. Prioritize yourself in the process.
You don’t have to choose between discipline and joy. You can build both into your week.
Here’s to healthy routines, spontaneous getaways, and building businesses and homes that leave room for life.
