Insulation, Birthday Celebrations, and Nursery Prep Begins

We just wrapped up another productive house weekend, and this one felt like a big milestone. We made huge headway on punch list items and finally started installing insulation throughout the barndo. This part has been hanging over our heads for a while mostly because it’s such a physically demanding task but it felt amazing to actually get started and make progress.
Let me be honest though: I was hurting. By Sunday night, I was so sore I could barely move without wincing. My body let me know I had hit my limit, and I spent most of the evening recovering. Still, there’s nothing quite like that kind of pain... the kind that tells you you're building something real and moving closer to your goals.
A Week of Meetings and Celebrating My Husband
This week is shaping up to be both productive and meaningful. I have several client meetings and check-ins scheduled, and I’m also celebrating my husband’s birthday!
Do we have solid plans? Honestly… not yet. But that’s kind of the beauty of being self-employed. I don’t have to ask for PTO or squeeze celebrations into evenings or weekends. If we decide to hit the lake, take a day trip, or just enjoy a nice dinner out, we can do that. And that freedom is something I never take for granted.
Wednesday through Friday is still a little up in the air. I’ve got my laptop, my notebook, and a running to-do list, but I’m also making space to just go with the flow and celebrate this week for what it is which is a chance to reflect on how far we’ve come, together.
Making Room for Baby
One of the most exciting parts of this week? We finally get to start the nursery!
Our nephew, who’s been living with us for the past year, officially moved out. While we’ve loved having him stay with us and it’s been a blessing to help him during this season of his life, we’re also thrilled to now have the room open and ready to become our baby’s space.
This weekend we’re planning to start the real work: clearing the room, painting, prepping the closet for a full makeover, and bringing in some of the baby items we’ve been storing away. It still feels surreal, but every time we work on the house or check off another task, it sinks in more and more: we’re getting closer.
Between the house, the baby, and my businesses, I’ve had to become incredibly intentional with how I spend my time. I’m still onboarding new clients through the end of June and working hard to train my growing team which is now up to seven amazing employees. That way, when maternity leave rolls around, things don’t fall through the cracks.
It’s a lot to juggle and some days are definitely harder than others but it’s also a season of tremendous growth, change, and purpose. I’m in the thick of it right now, and while I may be sore, tired, and often running on snacks and to-do lists, I’m also so proud of what’s being built.
Thanks for following along, cheering us on, and being a part of this journey. Whether you’re a client, a fellow entrepreneur, a friend, or someone just watching from the sidelines, your support means more than you know.
