Babymoon Bliss, Our Gender Reveal Surprise, and a Big Step in the House Build

This past week has been full of joy, rest, and some seriously exciting milestones. From our babymoon getaway to the moment we found out our baby’s gender, it’s safe to say this will be a week we’ll never forget.

Let’s start with something I highly recommend to any expecting parent—the babymoon.

What Is a Babymoon?

A babymoon is a special trip taken by expectant parents before the baby arrives which is a chance to relax, reconnect, and enjoy some uninterrupted time together before life changes in the most beautiful way.

Our babymoon was everything we needed. We spent time unwinding, having slow mornings, and doing the things we love without being on a schedule. No client calls. No house projects. Just us. We didn't even travel far either! We enjoyed our babymoon here in College Station at Hotel McCoy. We spent the first day starting with 18-holes of golf, a solid 2 hour nap, and then a late night movie at Cinemark. The 2nd day, we enjoyed lounging at the pool and prepared for baby. We never really get to enjoy each other's company as much since we are both busy, hustling entrepreneurs but when we do, we realize how much we enjoy it.

We laughed, rested, and had deep conversations about what life will look like when our little one is here. It gave us a chance to step away from the constant to-do list and really soak in the excitement of what’s to come.

Gender Reveal: It's a Boy!

While we were still floating from the babymoon, we had one more major moment waiting—our gender reveal.

We gathered with close family on Easter Sunday and handed my husband the secret powder filled football. And in true “us” fashion… he long snapped the football to reveal the result.

IT’S A BOY!

Cue the happy tears, hugs, and the loudest cheers from the people who love us most. It was such a fun and personal way to find out, and I’ll never forget that moment. We’re both so thrilled (and maybe just a little nervous) to be raising a boy, but mostly we’re just overwhelmingly grateful.

Back to Business: House Progress

Now that the celebrations have settled, it’s back to the build. We’re gearing up for one of the biggest transitions in the house process yet: Insulation and drywall.

We’ve officially ordered everything, and it’s set to be delivered this Friday. Once it arrives, we’ll be diving into installing insulation throughout our 6,000 sq ft barndominium and getting ready to close up the walls.

This step makes everything feel so real. Walls going up means we’re that much closer to move-in day even if it’s still a ways off (October 2026, to be exact).

So Much to Celebrate

From the joy of our babymoon to the excitement of finding out we’re having a baby boy, and now jumping into the next big phase of our home build, this season of life feels full. Full of love, of change, and of the kind of growth that only comes when you’re building something from the ground up. Literally and figuratively.
