Another House Building Weekend, Client Consults, and Prepping for a Philly Wedding

This weekend left me sore in all the ways that come with building a house from the ground up. We were back at it again, finally starting insulation inside the barndo. It wasn’t the sun that got to me, it was just plain hot inside the structure, and even with fans running, the heat was no joke.
With both my husband and parents keeping a close eye on me, I kept things light. They made sure I wasn’t overheating, and while I know they’re right, it’s still tough feeling like I can’t contribute as much as I want to.
There was even a moment where I considered throwing out an offer to trade services with clients, just to have someone step in and help me out while I step back. It’s one of those weird seasons where you want to do more but also have to honor your limits.
House Progress: One Step Closer
Even with the heat and limitations, it felt so good to finally get started on insulation. It’s one of those “real progress” steps, something that visibly moves the build forward and makes it all feel worth it.
Every time we get another task done, I can picture us a little bit closer to home.
Business: Saying Yes (and No) with Intention
On the business side, it’s been a busy few weeks with consults coming in consistently. But now more than ever, I’m being picky about what I can and can’t take on.
With baby due in late August, May and June will be my final onboarding months. After that, I’m closing the books until I return from maternity leave. This gives me the time I need to onboard clients properly and continue training my now 7 team members so they’re fully prepared to carry things forward while I step back.
If you’ve been thinking about working together, now’s the time to reach out.
Next Stop: Philly Wedding Weekend
This week, we’re packing our bags and heading out Thursday to Sunday for a wedding in Philadelphia. We’re making the most of the trip with a little bit of business sprinkled in (of course).
I’m bringing a stack of business cards to hand out to local shops and small businesses, and I’m hoping to find a networking hour or local entrepreneur event while we’re there.
So if you’re local or know the area, send me all your favorite things to do and eat in Philly. I want to make the most of it between wedding events, walks, and maybe a soft serve (or five).
A Little Reminder
This season is full. It’s not always balanced, it’s not always graceful, but it’s honest and real and growing. If you’re in a season where you’re juggling life, business, and big transitions too, give yourself the space to do what you can and grace for what you can’t.
Here’s to building houses, building businesses, and building families... all on your own terms.
